maeve 09 is a special record. it welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, baikal. although the dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. “pelican’s flight” reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait. the title track “pelican’s flight” is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. a throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. the pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation, in short this is a bomb. the b-side “all forces occur in pairs” goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. this track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension… maeve are honored to add this record to their repertoire.

the contemporaly house tracks which combine his established heavy groove, smoothness & beautiful essence! -secret floor 002- misterious, raw feeling & the roop of vocal sample are intertwined together to be miraculous sounds-saturday night- melodious and uplifting house track-o-nature- unique sound quality made by mpc & the trumpet sample greatly melt together -sky lounge- slow down...dope track with a spice of japanese sample blackoly profile:dj, beatmaker, and sound producer in tokyo, japan. born in 1981, his parents taught him to play in a forest and make what he wants to play by himself. started his dj carrer when he was 19.the first track he played was -bucktown- by smif-n-wessun. in the ensuing year he started making tracks under the name of dj shibaki. kept releasing his own tracks by casset tapes and cd-r and released -document-(12-) in 2006. after that he released mix cd -abstract- and -gravity-, and he has done around 100 of play in a year with his style of going back and forth freely among various sounds evolving abstract, breakbeats and hiphop.in 2009 he played together with dday one, dorian concept without knowing who they are. when he played together with dj kensei, he got a meaningfull comment -do you always do such a mix?- in 2010 he became immersed in creating tracks with mpc2000xl which was not not used for a long time, and started doing dj & live only with his own tracks by using cd-r & kaoss pad. thereafter he started making house tracks under the name of blackoly influenced by house djs & dancers whom he has played with since 2000s. the various music in his background & the dancer s excitement on the floor like -house- atmosphere greatly melted together and it led to build his unique sounds. in 2013 he released -dirty channel-(12-), in 2014 -dr.circus-(cd), and his work continues to this time.

firstly, a huge thanks to everyone for supporting us so far - 2016 has seen the dext label continuing to go from strength to strength, with our callahan and mella dee ep s backed with remixes from hodge and endian which have been been super well received. now for the third ep of the year from our resident comedian bodyjack. bodyjack has been an integral part of dext since he remixed dubspeeka on our 2nd release and headlined our label takeover of privilege in ibiza last summer. we are very excited about his return to the label with this 3-tracker (and our first full solo artist ep!), and we think you re going to dig this... the title track cobra effect is one of those tracks you aren t going forget in a hurry. intense and brooding, we are hard-pushed to categorise this, but layers of sinister bass coupled with dark, driving snares and eerie synth work culminate masterfully, making this the perfect dext track. hydra effect lifts the vibe with a straight up peak-time house jam with a sting in the tail. a raw-but-infectious bassline winds along under bodyjack s signature killer drum programming, before blasting off with something you aren t going to expect. rounding the ep off is slowine effect: a proper dancehall workout (reminiscent of bodyjack s earlier work) and a real cross-genre party starter. the most upbeat of the 3 tracks, this again takes all the elements of what we love about the music from the past and cleverly works them into something special for the rave. and that s not all for bodyjack on dext this year - he will be back with a one-off ltd record called -hot shot-, backed with a very special remixer...but more on that soon!
